Writer in Residence

For Open Sky Lisle has written The Mighty Prince, Scorched and Hairy Fairy Tails. He is now developing Cold and The Disappearing Act. Prior to co-founding Open Sky, Lisle wrote The Idiot Colony (Fringe First, Total Theatre Award) and From Newbury with Love for Redcape Theatre. Lisle also writes and directs for film and television and runs independent production company Wrapt Films. His feature film Here And Now was released to critical acclaim in 2014, his animated film Measles starring Brian Cox won a British Animation Award, his TV show The Secret Policeman’s Ball was nominated for a BAFTA and the Rose D’Or and won a Webby. In addition to his theatre projects Lisle is currently writing a four part drama for Channel 4, adapting The Idiot Colony for the big screen and developing a contemporary musical feature. Lisle lives with Claire, their daughter Sukhi-Belle and their dog Betty in the leafy valley of The Shire.
