We're delighted to be awarded an Arts Council England Project Grant to research and develop our new digital project alongside our partners Rural Media and Courtyard Hereford.
'MicroPlays' is a series of 5 short plays by diverse up and coming playwrights, that will be digitally filmed for targeted social media distribution. Social media is often sited as a polarised echo chamber where people only talk to others like themselves. We want to use it to reach out to people who don’t normally engage with theatre. The overarching theme for the plays is cultural polarization - the apparently widening gap between different sectors of society. This concept, prevalent in the media, asserts that gaps between social groups are widening. We’d like to investigate this idea and reassert our common human bonds.
