TO BE

TO BE. An actor in her 40s is at the height of her theatrical powers when a behind-the-scenes romance delivers an unexpected role and a life changing choice— motherhood.

Despite an idyllic pregnancy at her bucolic home, and a viscerally empowered birth, the experience threatens to subsume every other part she plays: artist, lover, individual.

To Be… is the world’s most famous question. Here Hamlet’s words are recast, no longer one man’s contemplation of existence but the voice of a woman reborn. Written, performed and co-directed by Kate Pothecary.
